Jonathan Daniel MD (Oregon)

Jonathan Daniel, MD, is a Portland, Oregon, physician who maintains a thoracic surgery practice with the Starr-Wood Cardiothoracic Surgery Group. He undertakes a diversity of complex procedures, including lung and esophageal resection for cancers and treatment of venous reflux, which causes swollen and painful legs. Jonathan Daniel, MD’s experience extends to treating stasis ulcers and the unusual fungal disease coccidoidomycosis, which originates in the southwestern US and requires specialized surgical attention.

Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Daniel has trained in the use of Davinci robotic technologies and emphasizes a minimally invasive approach to surgery. He completed a fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and was a lung transplant surgeon and assistant professor with the University of Arizona’s Thoracic Surgery Section.

Dr. Daniel has been an editorial reviewer for the Journal of Surgical Oncology sinçe 2010 and is well published in his field. In 2013, he coauthored the paper “Denosumab Chemotherapy for Recurrent Giant-Cell Tumor of Bone: A Case Report of Neoadjuvant Use Enabling Complete Surgical Resection” (Case Reports in Oncological Medicine).
