Jonathan Heard MD

An experienced physician, Jonathan Heard, MD, holds a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a doctor of medicine from Howard University in Washington, DC. After obtaining his medical degree, he completed an internship in general surgery at Lower Manhattan Hospital in New York City, and both a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in critical care at the Martin Luther King Jr. Outpatient Center in Los Angeles, California. Jonathan Heard, MD, went on to establish a private practice and teach as an assistant professor of surgery at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. He also served tenures at multiple hospitals and medical centers in California and Illinois.

Since February 2016, Jonathan Heard, MD, has contracted his services as an urgent care provider with the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. In addition to its main hospital location the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center manages six community-based outpatient clinics.
