Jose Miranda

By Haydee Ayala

Jose Miranda has been a steady presence since arriving to Orlando Florida from New York. He started out in 2006 making news due to his investigative style and involvement with the NLOA—National Latinos Officers Association. As a featured writer for the Pine Hills Newspaper, he was most noted for his candor, a manner of straight forwardness through his ironic dry sarcastic and cryptic small talk.

His continued involvement with the NLOA as Spokesperson only added to his exposure of media landing him a gig on the People Power Hour with George Crossley which ultimately developed into a co-host role. Miranda native to New York grew up in a hard-bitten neighborhood in Brooklyn, one of eight children.

In his teens he enlisted in the Service and was sent overseas. He served his country during the last years of the Vietnam War. Upon returning to the states, he married, had two wonderful children and joined another elite force—New York’s finest. After many years of being a police officer in New York he spins off to become a member of yet another group.

In the early part of 2009 his entrepreneurial spirit gave birth to a bold new initiative in Central Florida called YO SOY LATINO. A dynamic radio show who’s mission is to deliver exceptional programming to Latinos, African Americans, and every one of all ethnicities.

Since its inception, Yo Soy Latino has become one of the most popular and hottest radio programs in Central Florida. This is mainly attributed to Jose’s ambitious abilities to produce the best weekly radio show in a one-hour segment. This intrepid reporter turned talk show host is never taking a vacation.

In addition to his many duties at the stations he is also the Associate Producer for Hispanics Speak Out TV, EDUTV {an education program} and Latina Role Models a television show with Danny Ramos on Bright House’s Channel 49.
