Joseph Arthur
Mr. Arthur's academic background is in Fine Art & Communication Design (Parsons Institute, Los Angeles) as well as in Computer Science (University of California at Berkeley). Arthur also directs the California Indian License Plate Initiative. The first specialized California license plate for California Indians. This project will assist in the funding and awareness of the new California Indian Heritage Center. Replacing the old California State Indian Museum in Sutters Fort. Arthur directs strategic design & execution to deploy resources in the sectors of technology in which he guides. He has brought forth technical innovations in the fields of Internet Web development & design, Wireless Broadband Initiatives, VOIP [Voice Over Internet Protocol], interactive marketing projects (Web, DVD, & Print), mainframe to web integration, and PDA [personal digital assistant] & cell phone developments.
He also teaches the technology and cinemaphotography behind RED Camera and Steadicam - using the Red Camera. He teaches DVD Studio Pro and assists in the American Indian Film Institute's Tribal Touring Program. Arthur recently executive produced the UAIC feature film “Behind the Door of a Secret Girl” that has been submitted to the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. This film featured a cast and crew of UAIC students. He also served as technical director on the most recent Paramore music video, “Brick by Boring Brick.” Culturally he speaks on topics of Indigenous Technology, Parental Technology on Native American Reservations, Language Preservation, and has done numerous outreach and presentation engagements on Native TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Family). Native Vote Campaigns, Community outreach extends from: National Democratic Caucus, Native Wellness Institute, ITCC (Inter-Tribal Council of California) and various Native American & Indigenous film festival settings(with the American Indian Film Institute).
