Joy Banerjee

Hey, I’m Joy Banerjee. A sound engineer, Music composer and producer based in Mumbai, India.
I grew up surrounded by music. From hearing Indian classical and film music to bands like GreenDay,Backstreet Boys; music has been an integral part of my life since childhood.
I started learning Tabla at the tender age of 5 and I continued learning till I was 17 completing my Visharad with a distinction.

Ever since I recorded in the studio for the first time I got myself captivated by this process. My passion for music drove me to study Sound recording and design from Digital Academy,Mumbai under stalwarts like Daman Sood and Mujeeb Dadarkar.

I started my journey doing dailogue recording (ADR) and sound effects for films and worked in more than 50 films over the span of next 3 years. I also worked as an assitant recording engineer in one of the topmost music recording studio and worked with artists like Sheray Goshal, Sonu Nigar, Kailash kher etc..

Over the last 5 years I have worked in the broadcast/advertisement industry and worked with numerous channels and brands such as Turner, Tatasky, Star India, Dabur,Hindustan Unilever etc..

My background in computers and intrest in technology helps me blend science and art to get the best of both worlds and use it to approach projects froma new perspective making sure that the bes results are achieved.

One of the things that I enjoy the most is working with people. Sharing the love for films and music and get inspired by one another just makes the whole creative process more fun and special! I like to work closely with the artist and get involved in their projects. That way I can understand what they want to achieve, help them to get there easier and share their passion during the whole process.
