Joy Siao

Born in Los Angeles California and raised in San Diego, California, Joy is a current undergraduate at the University of California, San Diego majoring in Economics.

Joy attended Torrey Pines High School in Del Mar, California. After graduating high school in 2009, she enrolled in the University of California, Santa Cruz for two years prior to transferring. During her period in Santa Cruz, Joy was an active member of the University Economics Association.

Following her freshman year at UC Santa Cruz, Joy was selected for an internship for Dentsu Media Palette in Taipei, Taiwan; one of the largest advertising agencies in the world. Through Media Palette, Joy strengthened her leadership skills while working directly with high profile companies, such as Sony, in sports and digital marketing.

In winter of 2011, Joy was offered a position as Director of CampusCred Santa Cruz, a startup offering a deal-of-the-week website featuring discounted deals for college students. In January 2011, Joy and her team launched CampusCred Santa Cruz and sold over 300 deals within less than a week for Saturn Café. Post-launch, Joy and her team were able to successfully market and sell hundreds of deals to other local hotspots, such as, 99 Bottles, Kirkwood, Falafel of Santa Cruz, and Pacific Cookie Company to name a few.

Although a current full time student, Joy finds time to enjoy her hobbies. Joy is a media junkie, aspiring chef, and beach lover. She desires to continue working in the digital media world post graduation.
