Juan Carlos Tabora
Juan Carlos Tabora began his career as a Maintenance Program Manager in the United States Army in 1993. His leadership skills were evident early, and the Army entrusted him with the responsibility of directing teams of up to 22 personnel and managing EHS programs for airfields housing more than 300 aircraft. His diligence led to his promotion to Operations & EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) Manager in 2000, a role in which he directed the production and quality control operations of aircraft maintenance programs. As the Operations & EHS Manager, Juan Carlos Tabora led a matrix team of 20 driving instructors and 200 employees during a military assignment in South Korea, increasing the operational efficiency by 50%. In addition to supervising EHS programs in several facilities, Juan Carlos Tabora provided guidance to other EHS facility managers, oversaw the welfare of 42 individuals, managed a $4 million budget, and ensured that all avionic, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems were functioning at optimal levels. In 2002, Juan Carlos Tabora became an Assistant Director in the United States Army, a position he held for the next four years in conjunction with his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University. Mr. Tabora took on the considerable responsibility of risk management at a new organization of more than 225 employees performing high-risk operations to secure U.S. borders. He mitigated risks and executed corrective actions, earning top ratings for his leadership efforts. Even more impressive was Juan Carlos Tabora’s ability to balance these duties with his academic obligations. In 2004, he received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Environmental Technology. Juan Carlos Tabora’s most recent work was in the civilian arena. From 2006 to 2010, he served as the Risk Management EHS Operations Manager at U-Haul International, Inc., where he was able to employ his military experience in a new field. As he had in the Army, Juan Carlos Tabora continued his efficient leadership by cutting waste and implementing new programs for the benefit of the company and its workers. Juan Carlos Tabora also continued to further his education while employed at U-Haul; he received his MBA from Arizona State University in 2010.
