As a practising shipwright and naval architect I have always been interested in the knowledge required to conceive and build ships; especially in the past.
My research tries to establish the methods and procedures used to shape the hulls of ships and boats from the past. By knowing how ancient (and traditional) shipwright shaped their hulls we can begin to understand better the methods they devised to store and transmit their knowledge.
