Julie is a writer, producer and director, obsessed with movies that matter.

As a screenwriter, Julie has been commissioned and optioned several times.

Her biopic on the artist Rosamond was optioned by Oscar-winner Ron Schwary (Ordinary People).

Julie’s legal thriller, 27, placed second out of three thousand scripts in the IndieProducer Screenplay Contest. Julie and Vicki Light are producing.

Julie’s romantic thriller, Dark Desire, starring Kelly Lynch (Drugstore Cowboy) and Michael Nouri (Flashdance), was bought by LIFETIME and garnered excellent ratings.

Emmy-winner Armand Assante (Gotti) commissioned Julie to write a drama about Iraq veterans.

Most recently, Julie was brought in by Doug Atchison (Akeelah and The Bee) to write the life story of visionary Debrah Constance.

Julie wrote, produced and directed Getting Off, which starred Oscar-nominated Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone), Tony-nominated David Marshall Grant (Angels In America), Garrett Dilahunt (Raising Hope), Brooke Smith (Grey’s Anatomy), and Bill Sage (We Are What We Are).

Getting Off premiered at The Toronto International Film Festival to critical acclaim. Glenn Lovell of Variety wrote, “Top Notch! A sharply-observed tale. Think ‘Friends’ with an acerbic Dorothy Parker aftertaste.” Bill Diehl of ABC Radio Network exclaimed, “One of the most frank and honest films I’ve seen.” Bruce Weber of The New York Times called Julie, “Impressive and talented.”

Getting Off was also an official selection of SXSW, The Seattle International Film Festival, The Munich International Film Festival, and The Santa Barbara International Film Festival. It won The Audience Award at The ARPA International Film Festival and The Vision Award at The Garden State Film Festival.

Getting Off was acquired by Showtime and is available on Netflix and Hulu.
