Kansas City..there’s no place like home!

Hello from the heartland – Home of the KC Royals AND the KC Chiefs!

Kansas City, the Midwestern state that it is, I’ve heard called a “fly-over state”, I heard people from the Midwest referred to as Flatlander, Rednecks, and Republican – used as a derogatory term and people who have not been to the Midwest tend to think the only thing here are corn fields.People from Kansas City have heard all of the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy jokes many, many, many times over. So no, we aren’t going to laugh at the Toto jokes, you do realize that movie came out in 1939 right?

I grew up about 2 hours from Kansas City and have raised three boys in the Midwest and have taught them Midwestern values. For those of you unfamiliar with Midwestern values – they are a set of values where people are neighborly, friendly, polite and honest. They hold family in the highest regard, are patriotic and love their country. Midwesterners help others. They do for others what they would want done for themselves.

Like most of you, I have been through a lot in my life and have developed strong opinions and have many, many thoughts on a wide range of topics.
