Karin Basaraba, ABC

I am an account manager with PR Associates, a public relations firm with Canada’s largest and most comprehensive mining practice, where I am responsible for strategic planning, social and digital media, issues management, and corporate communications.

Previously, I was a senior communications specialist for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), where I was responsible for the development and management of ICBC’s social media strategy, as well as strategic communications planning.

I am very involved with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and am the past president of the British Columbia chapter. I've won 11 IABC awards, including a Gold Quill Award of Excellence for my work on developing the ICBC Twitter account, and a Gold Quill Award of Excellence for Community Relations.
