Currently serve as Administrative Assistant for the U.S.-Japan Council (Japan), Tokyo office, I am responsible for development and the program implementation of the organization.
Previously, I served as Alumni Coordinator for TOMODACHI. Before joining as staff, I worked as a TOMODACHI intern for 10 months from September 2014. I was then selected to the two Environmental Leadership Programs both funded by the U.S. Department of State, and spent four months in Washington, D.C. through full scholarship funded by the Washington Center. I cultivated my passion in environmental education as well as nonprofit leadership through being a Development Intern for EESI (Environment and Energy Study Institute). I am an alumna of two TOMODACHI programs: the TOMODACHI Metlife Women's Leadership Program and Building the TOMODACHI Generation. I hold a B.A. in Political Science from Keio University, Tokyo.
My passion lies in the environment (climate change & climate justice), Japan-U.S. Relations, cross-cultural exchanges, children and youth, women's empowerment and development of the Asia Pacific region.Taking part in various programs funded by the U.S. government and a variety of corporations, I had the extraordinary privilege to learn about the environment, the role of the nonprofit sector and women's leadership from completely different perspectives. My responsibility as a Japanese citizen is to grow further both in Japan and the U.S., and ultimately to give back to the societies which surround Japan and Asia Pacific societies.
