Karunamaya Vesna Blazhevska

Communications Assistant in New York, New York, United States

I am a communications professional based in New York City with a background in economics and international public service. Since 2008, I have worked as a Communications Assistant with the United Nations Department of Global Communications. My experience has strengthened my interest in clear communication and global issues that affect people and the planet.

I grew up in Yugoslavia, in what is now North Macedonia, and earned a degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics in Skopje at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University.

Sustainable development is especially important to me. I am interested in climate action, clean energy, quality education, gender equality, responsible consumption, sustainable cities, protecting life below water, and promoting peace. I believe that individual choices can support broader efforts to create a more responsible and sustainable future.

I have been a vegetarian since 1991 and do not eat meat or fish. This choice reflects my long-standing interest in thoughtful and responsible living.

Spirituality is also central to my outlook. I value peace, love, harmony, meditation, and unity among all faiths. I try to approach challenges with persistence and inner calm while continuing to learn, grow, and become a better version of myself.
