“There is little doubt...Kasi Jones is a star.” Or so says, legendary mix/master engineer, Dave Pensado, in a sentiment shared by many. When asked her opinion on that statement, Kasi just laughs, flashing her signature dimples and replies, “I’m just grateful to be doing what I love with people that I love.”

A natural born soul singer armed with a tone that has been described as velvet, and a rawness compared to Jimmy Page’s guitar riffs, Jones got her start singing in the basement of her Seattle home, “I was such a shy kid, I would slip away whenever possible, with a book, or when it wasn’t raining, go outside and sing to the birds...I thought I was Snow White.”
But it was only when her second grade teacher after hearing her sing in a school production asked her to write a going away song for another student that she bridged the gap between her two loves, singing and storytelling, penning her very first original song. “It was terrible!” she exclaims, “But that’s not what mattered...it’s amazing the magic that happens when someone believes in you.”

The magic hasn’t stopped.

Leaving the Pacific Northwest she relocated to LA, but had a hard time keeping her feet planted there. From doing club gigs in Tokyo by night while starring in Tokyo Disney Sea’s production of Big Band Beat by day, to performing in the award winning, Lovelace: A Rock Opera at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, Jones stayed busy treading the boards and honing her craft internationally, but made a decision to return to Los Angeles and pursue her solo music career.

Since returning to Los Angeles, she has graced television screens as a finalist on NBC’s hit show The Voice, and shared the stage with some of the greatest musicians of our time, including backing rock n roll legend Roger Daltry at the world famous Hollywood Bowl, to opening for Grammy award winner Robin Thicke. Then there are her current projects, Broadway bound musical The Boy from New York City and the upcoming release of her all original Intergalactic Soul debut EP Beautiful Liar... Jones takes it all in stride. Citing the words of aforementioned Robin Thicke, she says, “...we were posing for a photo-op after the gig, and he complimented me on my performance AND my dress (swoon)! Then he wished me luck with my career, and simply said, ‘Keep working’...so that’s what I intend to do.”

Word of advice, Keep watching for this “Star” on the rise.
