Trying to write a short bio on myself for branded.me opened up a Pandora’s box of issues for me. It got me to wondering how to define what I’ve done with the last twenty years of my life. I was born in the early 70’s and was blessed to grow up in a home where education was stressed. However, I got pregnant with my first child Michael and married at the tender age of 17. And my education went down the drain along with my first marriage. I had my second son Khaleb at the age of 26 and again the only good thing I got out of that was my beautiful son.

At that time, the wisdom of the crowd was that women could have it all. I balked at all the traditional women’s career choices such as teaching because “I was better than that.”

So I attended Miami Dade Community College, and studied Radio/TV Production. Yet again I hit another dead end wall.

I was single and now had two kids to look after. So I joined society and started working. I got my first job as a Receptionist, for a very prestigious advertising agency company in Miami, Florida. What would you know, I got really good at it, later I became the personal assistant to the CEO. I found a knack for Customer Service, Compose, editing and proofreading correspondence.
