Kathleen Creighton
New Haven, Connecticut, United States
Kathleen Creighton is a freelance journalist on a journey that involves telling the stories of the real artists of this era. She started the path in the alternative, pop-punk and indie music world. She has reviewed many live performances and interviewed a myriad of musicians. Her road took a fork in 2010 and now includes painters, sculptors, jewelers, fashion designers, performance artists and photographers.
Over the past four years Kathleen's interview style has developed it's own personality. Complimented by many subjects, they find it fresh, friendly and genuine. Kathleen doesn't just ask questions but has conversations that allow her to introduce readers into sides of the artists that bring people closer and give a clearer perspective to the artist's work.
Kathleen started as a columnist for Examiner.com as the Hartford Music Examiner covering all of Connecticut and the NY metro area. She expanded her music coverage to a blog titled "Not Your Mom's Music". Kathleen was a staff writer for the independent arts e-zine The Catalyst for it's one year history. It was through that position that she first encountered the SoCal 'arts tribe' and began covering its members. This resulted in the creation of the blog "The Tribes of Art". Her style, flair and network attracted the editors of what is now FourCulture arts magazine and she has been a contributing staff writer since Issue 1 went to press in August of 2012.
Today Kathleen has published feature pieces on America's Got Talent Season 7, third place finalist William Close; ANTM make-up artist and RuPaul Drag Race Season 3 winner, Sutan Amrull/Raja; and Black Veil Bride guitarist Jinxx (Jeremy Ferguson) along with many talented creators who are just below the mainstream radar. Her work continues to open new doors to greater opportunities.
