I set up Discover Gardens here in the UK 5 years ago in response to requests from American visitors for private garden tours. The business grew and I take visitors of all nationalities (the tours are conducted in English but I do speak conversational French also). Based in Sussex and Kent, I take small groups (no more than 8 people) on either 1 or 2-day tours. I specialise in Sissinghurst Castle and Great Dixter gardens but also arrange visits to private gardens not usually open to the public. I have a horticultural background, having studied both garden design and horticulture, and my tours are for people who eschew the coach tours, choosing instead to have an exclusive tour in the company of a fellow keen gardener.
