I'm a southern girl from Pensacola, Florida who loves marrying together the arts with scientific research to improve peoples lives.

I'm a co-founder and yoga teacher at Anasa Yoga, LLC, a neighborhood yoga studio in the Laurel District in Oakland, that focuses on health and community. In addition to teaching a beginning yoga class at Anasa Yoga on Saturday mornings, I teach yoga and meditation courses at Mills College, and for the Mills College Employee Wellness Program. For 5 years, I led Alameda Hospital's community yoga program. As program coordinator for Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre, I was also the resident yoga instructor for 7 years.

As a public health educator and health activist, I was a health counselor and research associate for the UCSF Center for Health and Community's Healthy Beverage Initiative Study. I'm about all things GirlTrek, a national heath organization based in Washington D.C. and serve as a volunteer organizer.

As a program coordinator and theatrical director for educational theatre for 15 years, I took raw data on youth health issues, and blended it with music, dance, drama and comedy. I turned statistical data into theatre that was fun, entertaining and that inspired school communities from Sacramento to Fresno to make better decisions about their health. I have a bachelors degree in Dramatic Art-Dance from U.C. Berkeley.

I am a health and wellness ambassador for Ahnu shoes, Gaiam, a health and wellness lifestyle company, and Oakland, the city of Warriors!

In December 2013 and April 2016, I had the opportunity to be featured yoga model in Yoga Journal Magazine. I continue to grow and deepen my yoga practice with teachers-Sandy Blaine, Maty Ezraty, and Marla Apt, and at the The Yoga Room in Berkeley, CA
