Kayla Rouse
Sustainability Researcher and Artist in Appleton, Wisconsin
I am a biologist and MBA who is bridging the gap between science and business by leading the implementation of innovative scientific research into real-world results. Instead of leaving cutting-edge discoveries on the shelves in published journals, I apply them to sustainable businesses that make a societal impact. I use advanced analytics and strategic thinking in combination with a clear understanding of the science behind cutting-edge research, allowing me to lead diverse teams, implement creative ideas, and realize positive social and environmental results. I am passionate about wildlife conservation and creating a balance between the sustainable livelihood of people and the environment. To achieve this, I apply my leadership, communication, and problem solving skills I learned through non-wood fiber development at Kimberly-Clark, my MBA at Notre Dame, my undergraduate degree in biology, and entrepreneurial experience in founding a community organization called the Davis Community Time Bank.
I am particularly interested in sustainable product development and biomimicry.
