kelly... BE

Hi!

Why kelly BE? There were 2 other Kellys in my class all through school. To differentiate, our last initial became the indicator. My maiden name was Brock...so I was Kelly B. Jump ahead to adulthood...and not too long ago...I was having coffee with a friend (of almost 40 years) and her sister...chatting about the writing I was doing. As she left she said, "Catch ya later Kelly B!" and it struck me. That was it! All my writing was about exactly that...BEing me. Something I was coming to realize I had never known how to do. Turns out my whole life the world was telling me to BE me. I just hadn't listened before. It was meant to BE!

I live in Seattle with my 2 of my 3 boys...24, 17, 13, and my husband. My oldest is at grad school in Ireland, but he will always have his room here :) I am certain I have alter-egos living all over the world...all sunny places near the water, of course!

I have worn many hats in my professional life. 98% of them have been creative. Most recently I jumped in to the deep end of the entertainment industry...so far I'm doin' okay without floaties :)

My most prized possessions are my photographs

I am smitten with fine paper and stationery, and I am a hoarder of fonts

I've finished 2 marathons and summited Mt. Adams with little or no training. I don't claim to be a badass, but I do have serious willpower when I set my mind to something...not always a good thing...wink/grin

I suffer from a bad case of wanderlust and am fortunate to lead fabulous teams all over the world to build houses for deserving families in developing countries

I am an accidental vintage trailer fixer and LOVE a good road trip

Before this crazy ride is over I am aiming to: finish writing a book, act on a stage (with an audience), keep bees and grow lavender, own a small trailer in Malibu, CA, and laugh a lot more than I did the first 47 years!
