Kim Anderson

A day when you don't learn anything is a day wasted. As a technical writing and analytical professional, I have been involved with the development of training materials for machine mechanics/operators, Statistical Process Control (SPC) computer system improvements, and Measurement System Analyis (MSA) testing.

I am versatile and can handle a lot of things thrown at me in order to help reach goals. I have the thirst and curiosity for knowledge that fuels technical writing skill. I'm naturally inquisitive and want to ensure the end user understands the topic in question. I strive to build relationships with subject matter experts (SMEs) so that the relationships provide a foundation for continuous flow of information. I've developed the following skills and abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, GIMP Image Editing, Alice Programming, FastStone Capture.
  • Working knowledge of Visio, Powerpoint, Minitab 16 Statistical Software.
  • Basic familiarity of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop.
  • Some experience viewing CAD drawings.
  • Adept at learning new applications. Currently learning Corel Draw.
  • Ability to work with different subject matter experts: from production operators to supervisors to mechanics to engineers.
  • Strong talent to convey ideas graphically, as many learn better visually.
  • Efficient communication skill built from already working effectively with 6 facilities across the U.S. on document style and standardization.
  • Attention to detail from the exact measurements needed in maintenance of machines to the careful analysis of production equipment.

All of the above qualities make me a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional who would thrive in a permanent position in Chicagoland related to technical writing, editing, and/or analysis.
