I am 18 years old and live in California. I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember. Back when I was young I used to play some sports including Baseball, Basketball, and Bowling (if you consider that to be a sport). After several injuries and some time, I got bored of each sport and moved away from it. Thus I was introduced to video games.
Starting off as a console gamer being introduced to the PS2, I eventually made the jump into a game called Halo. This is when I had my transition into the Xbox. After a few years had passed, I got tired of playing the Halo series on repeat, and decided to try something new. A game from the MMO genre, and in a different area. An area known as the PC. Ever since then, I have been a PC gamer and don't plan on returning to console anytime soon.
Being introduced to the PC, there was a lot of information for me to learn. Such as how computers work, what system works best, which programs I should have and which ones I should avoid. What to do and what not to do on the internet, the types of people I should talk to and the types of people I should avoid, and that some people are trolls.
Eventually I got into the more technical side of the internet. This is where I learned about programming, networking, and hacking. I was really interested in the hacking and networking side, so when I heard that I could make a career where I can learn about hacking and combine it with networking, I was excited. Although, I am not the one that is hacking, I would be protecting against it. Still, I am able to learn how to hack, and that seems pretty cool to me.
So now here I am, enrolled at UAT and taking my courses to go towards my major of Network Security. See you on the other side of the screen!
