Knowledge Gigs

After learning that my initial spotting of this item was false, I tried to hunt it down but to no avail. What made it even more difficult was the fact that the "UPC" codes provided (for this gig and the others that are offered) are in fact INCOMPLETE. After doing research into UPC codes in general, I learned that the standard UPC-A code is supposed to consist of 12 digits (not 10 as what is provided). All the codes in all the Gigwalk listings are all missing both the "start" and "end" or "error correcting" digits. I found a free online database which allows one to input a code without its "check digit" and it will calculate the check digit and will present both the correct UPC-A formatted code. Then, by Googling the newly attained CORRECTLY formatted code, I was able to find some of the items listed in your gigs. However, none of the local retailers are close enough to me to make it worth my while to make the trip to photograph the UPCs. The transportation costs and opportunity cost would easily exceed what I would be paid for the gig. I apologize, but I must withdraw my application for this gig.
