Kristen Mastel

Kristen Mastel is an outreach and instruction librarian at the University of Minnesota. She received her Masters of Library Science from Indiana University, and her undergraduate Bachlor of Arts from the University of Minnesota- Morris. Her research areas of interest include instruction, information literacy, outreach and instructional design. Kristen is President-Elect of the Minnesota Library Association, a three year commitment, starting in 2012.

She enjoys teaching students, staff, and faculty across the University through the Libraries' Workshop series and by developing online instruction.

In addition, Kristen is working on her Masters of Liberal Studies (yes, her second MLS degree) where she is collecting oral histories around the Como Ordway Memorial Japanese Garden to create podcasts, along with compiling the history of the space and place.
