Kristin Nugent Interior Design accentuated the home's existing features and enhanced spaces, such as the top level, which offered stunning ocean views. The designer created a versatile dining room by pairing two walnut tables to seat large parties and to allow for smaller, intimate gatherings as well. The homeowners were greatly satisfied with the final outcome, appreciating the collaborative nature of working with Ms. Nugent. Other notable projects completed by the interior design firm include residential designs for suites in the W hotel in Dallas and the Grand Wailea Resort in Maui. In each case, the team considered the clients' requirements, as well as the natural lighting and features of the space.

An avid traveler, Kristin Nugent has incorporated discoveries from her wide voyages into her designs. She has visited Indonesia, Portugal, Italy, India, and Morocco, and has developed an appreciation for foreign cultures. In Morocco, she visited Tangier and Marrakesh, sampling foods in the medinas and drinking freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning and mint tea every afternoon. One of her most memorable experiences in Africa was driving through the Sahara, staying at riads along the way, and sleeping outside under night skies teeming with stars.

A former Big Sister, Ms. Nugent and her firm support Heal the Bay and the California League of Conservation Voters and its effort to reduce BPA plastics in underserved communities.
