Kristina Maury
It was an undergraduate media law course that initially sparked Kristina's interest in law. Excited by the legal principles surrounding fair use, right of publicity, and the First Amendment, she made the decision to attend law school. While in school, she took various IP-related courses including Copyright, Trademark, and Entertainment Law. She's served as a law clerk at Universal Pictures, the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney and the Alliance for Children's Rights. She was also a line editor for the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology (JOLT).
Kristina received her B.A. in Journalism from Howard University in 2007. Not only has she written articles for numerous publications and websites, including The Chicago Defender, The Hilltop, ediets.com, and madamenoire.com, but she also served as a local news intern at NBC4 in Washington, D.C. She put her love for creative writing to use as an Executive Leadership Trainee at LAGRANT Communications where she wrote press releases and by-line articles. She is currently in the process of starting a non-profit focused on introducing teen girls to entrepreneurship.
In her free time, Kristina enjoys watching quirky documentaries and foreign films. She loves Ethiopian food, and she is determined to get more stamps on her passport.
