LaVonda Wagner, a former college athlete with over two decades of coaching experience, served Oregon State University in Corvalis, Oregon, as head basketball coach. While there, she helped the school create a competitive Division I women’s basketball program by attracting talented recruits and by raising funds for cutting-edge facilities like locker rooms and a leadership library. Moreover, LaVonda Wagner inspired her players to excel in academics. In fact, her team had the most impressive grade point average among all the sports programs at the university.

Before becoming a coach, LaVonda Wagner played basketball and volleyball as an undergraduate student at Mars Hill College in North Carolina. In recognition of her athletic accomplishment, the college inducted her into its Hall of Fame. After securing her bachelor of science in physical education, Wagner became a physical education instructor and assistant volleyball coach at East Tennessee State University.

In recent years, Ms. Wagner has developed her interest in wine into a professional passion. She studied to become a sommelier and currently holds her Level 2 sommelier certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
