Laila Fakier

I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University of Cape Town, completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language & Literature, Linguistics and Film & Media Studies.

Having grown up as “one of the guys”, I would like to think that I have an appreciation for the finer things in life such as cartoons, manga and comics, anime and video games.

I am obsessed with Japanese subculture pertaining to the former and a self-proclaimed Otaku. I usually spend leisure time mastering these arts by attending comic book and cosplay events, in addition to spending hours reading manga, watching anime and playing video games.
