Based in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore is a board-certified radiation oncologist who holds leadership responsibilities within UNC Cancer Care at Nash Danny Talbott Cancer Center. Committed to patient-centered care, Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore has participated in a number of hospital department decision-making processes as president of the medical staff. The two-year position involves serving on multiple committees and councils that ensure that quality services are provided.

Earning her MD at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Jacimore served as Honor Council co-president and received the Winston K. Shorey Award for outstanding graduating senior. She subsequently completed a radiation oncology residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and began her current position in 2004. Treating approximately 300 new patients annually, in addition to her practice of radiation oncology, she focuses on hospice and palliative care, assisting many patients and their families in end-of-life situations.

Actively involved in her local community, Dr. Jacimore is a member of Christ the King Presbyterian Church and serves on the board of a local ministry to women, The Welcome Mission. In this capacity, she coordinates support for women who have endured crises and abuse and are able to find renewed purpose and identity in Jesus.
