Lauren McAlpin, J.D.

Lauren is a recent law school graduate who is currently preparing for the July 2013 Bar examination. She recently received her J.D. from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School, graduating with honors in the top of her class. Lauren previously attended the University of Kentucky where she obtained her B.A. in Sociology with a focus on Inequalities in Sociology.

While in Law School, Lauren held several positions with the Black Law Students Association, including a regional position as the Director of Social Action. During her tenure, she helped plan the Trayvon Martin Rally in Atlanta, GA, where she spoke about the role that future attorneys and law makers should play in influencing the enactment of laws such as the "Stand Your Ground Law" in Florida.
