Lauryn Seida Black
Garden City, NY
In June of 2012, Lauryn Seida Black enrolled at Nassau Community College, in Garden City, New York, where she studies biology and dental hygiene. Concurrent to her studies, she works in an independent capacity as an exotic cat breeder. Lauryn Seida Black recently completed a course in feline husbandry and purchased two Bengal cats. She also aspires to breed Caracal hybrids and Lynx hybrids.
Her interest in exotic cats stems from her early employment with Clyde Kennels in Alberta, Canada, where she worked with both cats and dogs. Serving in the company’s mutt adoption center and the Canadian Kennel Club, she learned how to care for animals and gained exposure to breeding. Lauryn Seida Black also worked as a Veterinary Technician, in which role she assumed responsibilities such as evaluating health status, administering medications, and assisting with medical exams and surgeries.
In addition to providing care, she learned about the business side of breeding and selling animals through administrative duties such as performing due diligence on potential pet owners, stocking supplies, and ordering food. By incorporating the skills and knowledge she gained while working at Clyde Kennels, Black plans to build a high-end exotic cat breeding operation.
In her free time, Black enjoys outdoor activities such as horseback riding, skiing, hiking, hunting, and archery. She also maintains an interest in fashion. In addition, she supports charitable organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund, Wipe Out Homophobia, and Strike Out Hunger.
