Lawrence K. Williamson III
My name is Lawrence and I am a first year student at The Ohio State University .
My Top 5 StrengthQuest Strength were learner, Woo, responsibility, connectedness, input. The strength that identify the most with would be Woo. Woo stands for winning others over. I think of woo as someone who brings people forward. That person who is the initiator in a conversation. That person who wants as many people to join in as possible. While this is not my top strength I think this is the strength that I most utilize and is most present in my life. I am that person who will start a conversation with anyone. One of my favorite things to do is interact with people. Woo plays into my life in every way and typically a fairly similar way whether it be in a social, academic, or personal aspect. I try to get people together. More so then anything my drive stems from people. My favorite saying is, there is no such thing as a stranger just someone I haven't had the pleasure to talk too yet.
One assignment that at the conclusion of my first term sticks out is “A letter to myself” that was written in the beginning of the year. In this letter I talked about how I thought I was OSU was going to be, how I thought it was going to affect my future, the reason I chose this school, and the work I hope to do moving forward. What struck me the most from what I wrote was that I was terribly misguided. I have had many experiences over the years at OSU, in fact all my years I've been around the university and I believed I could just be optimistic and look forward. What sticks out to me the most about it is I was looking too far forward. While it's good to look forward you don't want to miss what's in front of you. Now what I get from the assignment is that it's good to look forward but you should always reflect on the present
EndFragmentOne of the activities that we did in class was map out our schedule and look at what we were doing throughout our week. And during this process I was pretty happy. For me I was very confident in the way that I kept track of my time. One benefit of this activity was afterwards, while I like to think I'm good at keeping track of my schedule and issue that I realized was that I would be too stuck in my ways. When things changed I wouldn't adapt to what was happening at that moment I would try to stick with the same thing. As a result of this I have changed or at least
