Leonor is a PhD researcher working in the Connectivity Group at the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-1), Forschungszentrum Jülich. Her research is on white matter changes in ageing. she is working towards a PhD in Medical Sciences / Dr. rer. med at the Medical Research School Düsseldorf, Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf
Prior to joining the group, she undertook postgraduate studies at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences (University of Edinburgh), where her research focused on the evolution of white matter hyperintensities and whole brain atrophy in the ADNI cohort. She was awarded the degree of MSc in Neuroimaging for Research with Distinction.
She also has a background in Psychology, having obtained her undergraduate degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines (BSc Psychology) and Maynooth University in Ireland (BA in Psychology).
After her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Research Assistant in Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience (Trinity College Dublin), the Complex and Adaptive Systems Laboratory (University College Dublin) and the Psychology Department (University College Dublin).
Her research interests include cognition, memory, white matter connectivity, and neuroimaging techniques, specifically diffusion MRI.
