Since a young age, dance has been a substantial part of Olivia’s life. Now 21 years old, Olivia Rodrigues is currently a senior dance major at Dean College and will be receiving her bachelor’s degree in dance in May 2016. As a Dean student she has studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, horton, limon, and release technique. Olivia has been blessed with many performance opportunities at Dean provided by both faculty and students. She has had the honor of being a member of the Dean College company in varies of styles, giving her the opportunity of working with amazing faculty including William Evans, Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp, Todd Shanks, Robbie Mulrey, and Ricardo Foster Jr. Olivia has also been a member of the Dean College dance team, hip hop team, and tap team.

Throughout her years of education at Dean, Olivia has discovered a true love for choreography. She has had the privilege of presenting one of her works titled Distinction at Dean College’s Choreographers’ Concert, as well as presenting works for Dean’s Collaboration Showand New Dancers’ Showcase. Outside of Dean, Olivia has choreographed for high school dance teams.

Olivia is currently a UDA (Universal Dance Association) instructor and has been for the past 2 years. As a UDA instructor, Olivia has had the opportunity of traveling around the country to teach and mentor at dance camps, along with working regional and national dance competitions. She plans to continue with this company, with hopes of working and performing outside of the U.S.
