Steve was born and raised in Liverpool, England. He began his broadcasting career as a student presenter on Mersey Community Radio FM in 1994 and got his first paid commission as a freelance producer with the Tate Modern when he was 18.

Steve was later commissioned by the Liverpool Council Arts Unit and worked as studio technician on the Hearing Is Believing project. Broadcasting from the Bluecoat Arts Centre in Liverpool back in the 1990s, the project was the very first experimental arts radio station in Britain.

Steve moved to Spain in 2006 to work as an English teacher, radio producer and broadcaster. He taught English for the Spanish Ministry Of Education and his local University. He has continued to study and recently successfully completed the University Of Oxford Effective Online Tutoring course.
