"Poncho" as everyone calls him, is a Corporate Banker that supports the largest companies in Mexico to execute their projects by providing the best in class advisory and financial solutions.

He began as a risk analyst and eventually moved to the business side covering the Real Estate, Retail, Aviation and Industrials Segments. Most recently, Mexico’s structural reforms and his work appointments in the bank have taken him to pursue a specialization in Energy Finance.

He is looking forward to be part of Mexico’s energy sector transformation and lead the execution of the reform’s investment plan.

Poncho was born in Torreon, Coahuila, but as he grew up he lived in more than 8 different states across the country, getting to know the diversity in cultures, the different ways of thinking that exist in Mexico and making a lot of friends.

Growing up in a family of bankers, he fell in love with the profession after witnessing the impact that a bank could have on people’s life. When he was living in Tabasco he experienced first-hand the support extended by Banamex to the state of Tabasco during a major flood that took place in 2007, saving many people´s lives.

He loves to practice road cycling and attending music festivals in the company of his wife Martha. He and his wife are regular participants in community service programs acting as tutors for high-school students and looking forward to open an NPO with the purpose of contributing to the reduction of the education breach in Mexico.

Poncho is very excited about going back to school, looking forward to make new friends and contribute to the class.
