Michelle Linschoten
Sexual Health Educator in St. Louis, MO
Greetings!
I currently live in St. Louis, MO. I am a sex educator and team leader, and I love my work. I love learning, and strongly value authentic connection to my community, colleagues, and students.
I am dedicated to life-long growth, especially in my understanding of systems of oppression, power, hegemony, and justice, as well as all things sexuality related.
I become a Sex Educator in 2008, working with Planned Parenthood of Louisiana. I completed a year long internship in their PR department before working in the Baton Rouge health center for a year and a half. After working at the Baton Rouge Rape Crisis Center for another year, I moved to St. Louis to start my Masters programs. I received an MSW and MPH from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. For both degrees, I specialized in Human Sexuality, with a focus on community sex and health education programming. Under supervision of AASECT certified sex therapists and educators, I studied, wrote, and developed and assessed Education and Professional Development programs.
Since 2014 I have been working for Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, first in the health centers, and in the education department since 2016. In 2016 I published Sensate focus: A critical literature review in the Journal for Sexual and Relationship Therapy. In 2019 I moved my direct practice training program for medical students to be a Planned Parenthood-housed program.
