I Write. I Think. I Find Things. I Plan. I Create. I Work Hard at What I Believe In.
Alphabet Soup & Champagne. 45 years ago, I was the youngest African American Female disc jockey on the airwaves of Florida while dually enrolled in High School and College. 37 years ago I was visiting young males who were entering the Juvenile Detention Center, teaching, training and encouraging them to make better life-changing choices. 22 years ago I co-founded a Youth Football League, serving over 500 boys and girls with two teams rushing to 2nd place in the play-offs in the first year. 14 years ago I secured $1.3 million of funding for my first filmmaker. I've chaired and sat on the board of directors from local help agencies to federal programs. I've mentored and personally housed more than 100 African American youth. I run 5K and 10K races for Lupus, (I was diagnosed in 2012) hunger, HIV/AIDS and causes that change lives right now. I'm a Freethinker, writer, photo journalist and editor.
‘Let’s Do This, Done!’ My motto has become my Spirit-print. On the dotted line I pen more than a half century in age, with no plans to slow down. And that’s what makes Baby-boomer Alphabet Soup.
My passion for the entertainment industry roots itself from more than three generations of both sides of my parents. My childhood was first-hand to grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins who are dancers, musicians, playwrights, columnists, teachers, seamstress, restaurant and night club owners it seemed natural that I would try my hand in entertainment. No matter where you meet me in my life’s journey I will be doing one of these things...and that I do to the fullest. My work ethic never changes.
For me, the making of champagne has been cultivated through years of study, labor, volunteering and shear drive to pave a road that is always innovative, relevant and life-changing. The Entertainment Collective, a company I founded more than 16 years ago has transformed into an Entertainment incubator to work with entertainment creatives and artists to develop their business, career or marketing plan.
Year 2016 ended with a new beginning by forming my next company; 42 Bridges 2 Oceans. Named for the most breath-taking way to travel to do business or visit the rest of the world. The southernmost 127 miles of the US are islands; the Florida Keys, connected by 42 bridges with a 2-lane highway between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. 42b2o connects great ideas to a profitable change.
