For more than seven years, Macmichael Nwaiwu has worked in the energy industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from the Federal University of Technology in Owerri in Imo State, Nigeria. Following his graduation, he joined Addax Petroleum as a petroleum engineer and spent the next two years designing cost-effective drill wells and safely planning rig-less and rig-based workovers. During this time, Macmichael Nwaiwu also returned to school and completed a master’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Houston.
Following his completion of his graduate degree, Macmichael Nwaiwu joined Halliburton Energy Services as a project engineer. He held this position for another two years and was responsible for interfacing with clients, leading a casing analysis team, and interacting with other company departments. In 2015, he joined Pinnacle Advanced Reliability Technologies as a mechanical integrity project manager, and in 2016, he accepted his current role as a lead engineer for DTE Energy.
At DTE Energy, Macmichael Nwaiwu develops and manages program requirements for the company’s gas transmission pipeline integrity program. In addition to that, he develops long-term ILI plans and oversees a team of seven individuals. He also serves as the executive chairman at Global Dynamic Integrity Solutions Ltd. In Nigeria.
