Madeeha Anwar

Madeeha Anwar is a TV journalist, a web editor and works with Voice of America (VoA) in Washington, D.C.

Madeeha earned her Master's Degree in Mass Communication from Punjab University, Lahore.

Her journalistic career started at ARY News (formerly ARY One World) at the Dubai headquarters where she worked as a news anchor. Later she worked as a reporter for ARY Lahore's bureau where she covered political and social events, developed reporting skills and learned how to execute ideas for feature stories.

Madeeha's next step in career was to join the pioneering team of 'Express News' in July, 2007. She was based in Islamabad and covered parliament proceedings and focused on political reporting at Express News.

In 2008, Madeeha moved to Washington, D.C. and joined the Urdu Service of Voice of America. She became a part of the TV team producing a half an hour daily show 'Khabron Se Aage'. Madeeha combined her skills as an anchor, a reporter and a producer on that show.

Over the years Madeeha has adopted new techniques for reporting and has honed her editing and production skills. Starting from the concept of a story until the execution of a final product, Madeeha takes care of all the aspects. She has a proficiency to work both on Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer.

In addition to political reporting, she introduced multiple aspects of the Pakistani American community, telling many success stories of pursuing the 'American Dream' as well as the hardships that some Pakistani Americans had to endure.

Her current role as a Web Editor for UrduVOA.com began almost a year ago. She finds this job to be challenging yet interesting at the same time.

Madeeha is an ardent admirer of literature and expresses herself through writings. She is obsessed with photography, traveling and exploring world.
