Maggie Dorfman
My journey as a baker began inside my mom’s kitchen where my sister used to bake all kinds of sweets. I don’t remember how old I was when I was promoted from the position of licking leftovers from spoons to actually baking and decorating but I’m sure I was pretty young.
My sister taught me her secret recipes (from which she said she received many marriage proposals). Her dulce de leche pave is her most popular dessert and the reason I am always invited to friends’ parties.
For my 15th birthday, I wanted to have a daisy-shaped cake so my mom took me to the best baker in town. The baker said it wasn’t possible and convinced me to have a (boring) regular shaped cake. Couldn’t she make a big round cake and cut the corners? This experience increased my motivation for making the most artistic cakes I could imagine.
I mastered the art of decorating with whipped cream and soft and hard meringue years ago but my passion for decorating cakes didn’t really start until recently when I discovered what I could create with fondant.
I paint with oils and enjoy crafting. I also enjoy when people eat what I cook or bake. That’s how baking and decorating cakes is the perfect combination of doing what I love and enjoy the most.
I look forward to working with you in creating the perfect cake for your next event or special occasion; a cake without limits.
