Ok - so importing a bio from FB didn't work...technology and myself having a war again I assume. Thus, I will write one:
I am currently 28-years-old, turning 29 this year. I live, work, play, read, write and sneeze in Cape Town, South Africa. I have lived here all my life and wouldn't trade it for the world - most days. There are some days when I cringe at being associated with this part of the world.
I started writing poetry when I was eleven. It started as a school assignment - write a poem about your grandparents for grandparents day (the school would host the grandparents for a day of tea, cake, songs and getting to wander into your grandchild's class and see them working). By the time the class had written a line I had four poems to choose from - and my teacher told me they were GOOD.
I wrote on and off between then and 2005, when I started writing more regularly. I joined a site called deviantArt, where I regularly post my writings up to this present day. Those writings include: many emotional poems on varying topics, some prose chapters of stories I am working on, collaborations between myself and other writers and book reviews.
I aim for improving my poetry over the years and eventually publishing either it or some of my stories. While that is a (big) dream, I currently work as an online English language teacher for a company based in Cape Town. I would like to work more in this field, and I would rather study more in this field first but lack the funds for that.
I enjoy simple things like reading, World of Warcraft (when I have money for game time), playing SIMS 2 & SIMS 3. I am diabetic and take insulin four times a day and have to avoid all the nice things like fruit juice and fruit, though I do sneak sometimes - and then my sugar suffers. I am also bipolar and suffer from depression, anxiety, social phobia and very, very mild OCPD.
So that's me - a nut in a shell.
