The Associate Dean of Technology, Mahfood Alkaabi ( aka Kaabi), is responsible for the administration of the following programs:
- Computer Programming, AS;
- Computer Science, BS;
- Computer Technology and Networking, AS;
- Networking and Information Systems Security, BS;
- and Software and Mobile Applications Development, BS.
Mr. Alkaabi is in his third year attending Walden University for his Ph.D. in Management, Information System (ABD).
He holds a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from Riga Aviation University.
Mr. Alkaabi's fourteen-year career in education began as an IT instructor.
Prior to working for California College San Diego, Mr. AlKaabi served as a chair of Information Technology and Drafting and design in accredited institutions for seven years.
As the Associate Dean of Technology at California College San Diego, he has gained experience in many areas including the supervision of instructors.
He serves as a subject matter expert for students and instructors, promotes student enrollment growth by developing and implementing retention strategies and initiatives, and oversees the department re-entry program (as directed by the Dean).
Additionally, he leads monitoring and maintenance of all parts of the company IT infrastructure, implements procedures around backups and network security, takes the appropriate action to resolve any issues, and manages and maintain all technologies for the company.
