Minneapolis, MN native Malik Johnson has participated in singing, acting, writing, and dance/movement workshops with casting directors, choreographers, and agents since the young age of 18 through high school. Following getting the lead in his high school's musical in his last year, Malik moved out to New York City to attend The American Musical & Dramatic Academy in hopes to pursue his dreams of being a Broadway performer. Following his AMDA 2 year degree process, Malik has had the delight of working with big names such as " Under the Cherry Moon, Purple Rain" and Morris day" and Flyte Tyme Productions Jerome Benton, Award winning producer and screenwriter Illunga Adell (Moesha, Sandford and Sons), Manager/ Advisor Craig Damon Platinum selling recording artist and European Pop Sensation just to name a few. Malik has performed at a variety of venues across the country including the infamous 54 Below, The Metropolitan Room, The Duplex, and The Underground Lounge in New York City. Malik has been a back up dancer/singer to many including rising pop star Ali V at Rain Nightclub in Los Angeles. He also has had the pleasure of orginating the role of Zacharie in the newly wirtten muscial "Evangeline, a curious Journey" at Adelphi University Concert Hall, and also being in the ensemble of Gypsy of the year 2014 at the New Amsterdam Theatre with a plethora of broadway 's best ensembles. Along with performing across theaters/nightclubs/ and colleges regionally, Malik has been a background actor in television shows such as The Following, Madam Secretary, and featured on MTV'2's "Guy Court". Malik was last seen in " The Last Queen of Canaan" which was apart of NEXT: New Musicals In The Making with Theater Latte Da at the Ritz Theater in Northeast Minneapolis which was his Minnesota Debut.
