Mallika Roy

Hi! My name is Mallika and I'm a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with my B.A. in Psychology. I'm 23 years old and I'm loving life! I'm of East Indian descent, and I believe that gives me the advantage of cultural awareness and strong values which promote diversity.

I'm passionate about my field and my career in Psychology. I see my future as a Psychologist with a special emphasis relating to Positive Emotion and Well-Being. I am particularly interested in studying positive interventions and therapeutic techniques (such as mindfulness, gratitude, compassion, etc.) within the domain of clinical psychology, especially for prevention and treatment of Depression and Anxiety Disorders. My goals in the near future are to attend graduate school and obtain my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology because in addition to conducting research, I also aspire to work as a licensed Clinical Psychologist. I love to help people, and my compassion and determination are two qualities that will help me excel in my work.

I have a rich background in psychological research at both UC Berkeley and at Stanford University, where I am currently working.

Outside of my professional life, I have many activities and hobbies that keep me busy. I enjoy going to the beach, baking, reading novels, writing, practicing yoga, and drinking coffee - just to name a few! I believe it is important to develop myself and grow both professionally and personally - so I like to be adventurous and try new things.

My life philosophy is that with a goal, hard work, and dedication, nothing is impossible..because impossible itself spells "I'm possible".
