In addition to leading his private law practice in Miami, Florida, Marcell Felipe now leads the Inspire America Foundation, the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora and serves as a Trustee of Miami Dade College.

Mr. Felipe has chaired the advisory board of the Initiative for Democratic and Economic Alternatives (IDEAS) for Cuba since July 2019. An initiative of the Havel Program on Human Rights and Diplomacy at Florida International University, Columbia University and the Havel Library. IDEAS for Cuba seeks to aid in the post-communist reconstruction of Cuba's financial and legal institutions with the assistance of top international economists and attorneys.

Mr. Felipe’s responsibilities with IDEAS for Cuba include recruiting experts necessary to plan the reconstruction of Cuba's economy including, economists, lawyers and diplomats. Topics addressed by IDEAS for Cuba, include monetary policy, fiscal policy, addressing property claims, implementation of a new legal system and reinserting Cuba into the international financial markets.
