A leader in the community economic development sphere, Marcus Asay brings more than three decades of experience to his current role as the founder and Chair of American Labor Alliance in Fresno, California. Mr. Asay founded the labor organization 13 years ago, and under his direction, the alliance has grown to include more than 30,000 members across the United States and Puerto Rico, Seychelles and Rwanda. As part of his efforts in the labor sector, Marcus Asay has also spearheaded proposals for World Workforce International, an international labor union, and he leads the Farmworkers Enterprise Foundation.

Mr. Asay earned his bachelor’s in public and business administration from California State University, Sacramento, before going on to complete an MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Prior to launching the American Labor Alliance, he held finance and marketing leadership positions with professional sports organizations, such as the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers, as well as multiple Fortune 500 companies.

A committed member of the Fresno community, Marcus Asay has led civic projects such as raising $2 million for the Community Medical Foundation. He has also served as the executive director of the Workforce Connection of Fresno County.
