Growing up I was always so fascinated by gardening and creating art. When I had my first child, I wanted to share the excitement of working in the soil and watching the fruition of good work. I think of myself as a multi-media artist, self-taught in almost everything I do. First came juried arts shows, events and interior jobs. After much exploring, Margarita's Gallery became.

We built a home out of what should have been condemned and led us to restore a community that had fallen into years of neglect before our arrival. In the 17+ years here, husband and I, as Mayor and First Lady, forged projects and collaborations that built quality of life and restored community infrastructure.

In our journey to find "Mayberry", we adopted Estancia and son Jeremy, now 25. Mostly, I think about those years and wonder when we slept. I believe that anything done to make life better for everyone, can create everyday miracles.
