Mark Delesdernier

Mark Delesdernier, Jr., was born and raised in Pilottown, Louisiana, and became a third-generation Mississippi River Pilot responsible for safely guiding cargo ships, military ships, and passenger ships through nearly 100 miles of twists and turns between Pilottown and New Orleans.Captain Delesdernier was frequently consulted both nationally and internationally on maritime issues and subjects due to his having acquired extensive expertise while piloting over 6,000 ships of up to 160,000 tons deadweight and as the owner of several shipping related companies.Mark was elected, and re-elected, by his peers in the Crescent River Port Pilots Association to serve as the President/CEO of that Association for 19 consecutive years
