Mark Lyttleton is an angel investor, business mentor and speaker. He works with and invests in multiple early stage and growing companies, helping entrepreneurs to grow and develop their business, and the products and services they offer.

Although industry agnostic, Mr Lyttleton says that drive, passion and an ability to think deeply about their business are key traits he looks for in the founders he works with.

From September 1992, Mr Lyttleton worked at Mercury Asset Management, the company that went on to become Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, which subsequently became part of the BlackRock group. In this capacity, he ran equity funds for institutional pension funds, prior to transferring to the retail fund division in 1999.

In this role, Mark Lyttleton ran a number of the company’s UK equity funds, enjoying a period of impressively strong performance in the 2000s. In addition, he also ran the flagship UK Absolute Alpha fund, the retail marketplace’s first long-short equity fund, which he successfully grew from launch to more than $4 billion of assets at its peak.

Mark Lyttleton is an alumnus of the University of York. Fostering a sense of collaboration with the entrepreneurs he helps, Mr Lyttleton has developed a keen interest in how the mind operates and energy works. He is a certified Pranic Healer and also studied meditation and the Three Principles understanding of how the mind works.

Mark Lyttleton is also involved in philanthropy, supporting a number of UK charities as well being in the process of setting up a charity in the UK. His charity work is an important part of the way he would like to contribute to society going forward.
